The war is on: New York Street Advertising Takeover

On the side of buildings, under footbridges, plastered over storefronts, unlicensed advertising floods the city. Turning public spaces into advertisements is illegal, however local authorities allow these invaders the freedom to infiltrate whole cities....
Free space is an endangered species, along with the free mind… With this in mind, Jordan Seiler and scores of volunteers led a massive intervention across New York: they whitewashed 126 Illegal hoardings and in their place, dozens of artists installed their own vision and imagination on these public spaces.
These satirical and playful images are a trade free presence in the city. By the way, they asked us for nothing. See the hoardings
